This sounded like a bad idea - and the character design is little "uncanny" - but Constantin Film's new CGI Tarzan movie looks pretty intriguing from this trailer. The film is being prepped for a German and Russian theatrical release this spring, and an English version of the film is in the works - Kellan Lutz (The Twilight Saga) and Spencer Locke (Resident Evil) in the leads. Tarzan was directed by Reinhard Klooss from a script by Klooss, Jessica Postigo and Yoni Brenner. Here's the trailer:

I'm wondering why this wasn't done in live action with CG gorillas and "jungle vine" scenes. It kind of looks like a high-quality video game cinematic, instead of a theatrical release.

English Title should be "Tarzan and The Giant Black Krypton Rock Thing From Superman Returns".

    Tarzan and the Martians.

That is surprisingly impressive. (A trailer, granted, but impressive nonetheless.)

As an aside: Chuck Lorre mentioned something along these lines once, but every evil villain with a German accent reverbs with visions of trains shipping loads of innocents to remote rural camps. As Lorre also mentioned, my problem more than theirs.
