Animation Scoop Editor Jerry Beck is a writer, animation producer and author of over 15 books on animation history. He is a former studio exec with Nickelodeon Movies and Disney, was instrumental in launching Animation Magazine, co-founded Cartoon Brew and has written for The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. He is on the faculty of Woodbury University in Burbank and his latest book is The Art of Mr. Peabody and Sherman.

Animator Frank Terry (1939-2014)

Word has reached us that longtime animation industry veteran director Frank Terry has passed away. Terry produced hundreds of commercials and later became a mentor and teacher to many as a faculty member at Cal Arts.

One of the dozens of high quality animated features made in Europe with little hope of being distributed in North America (hint, hint, GKids). Animator Esben Toft Jacobsen's new CG feature film, Beyond Beyond, is the first stereoscopic 3D animated film produced in Sweden.

I have no idea what's going on here - but I do know I want to see it. The Satellite Girl and Milk Cow, directed by Jang Hyung-yun, is apparently being released this month in Seoul. It's like Astro Boy meets Totoro... on acid. Check out the trailer.
