He is a former studio exec with Nickelodeon Movies and Disney, was instrumental in launching Animation Magazine, co-founded Cartoon Brew and has written for The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. He is on the faculty of Woodbury University in Burbank and his latest book is The Art of Mr. Peabody and Sherman.

The "Dragon Ball Z" franchise has encompassed over 500 TV episodes, three TV specials, 42 graphic novels, plus numerous soundtracks, video games and toys. Now comes the eighteenth animated feature: Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods opening in 800 theaters this week by Funimation. Here's my review.
