Animation Scoop Editor Jerry Beck is a writer, animation producer and author of over 15 books on animation history. He is a former studio exec with Nickelodeon Movies and Disney, was instrumental in launching Animation Magazine, co-founded Cartoon Brew and has written for The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. He is on the faculty of Woodbury University in Burbank and his latest book is The Art of Mr. Peabody and Sherman.

MTV has been quietly reviving it's Liquid Television brand over the past few years, essentially as an online destination for new "awesome" animation. Tonight five all-new episodes of the anthology show will finally be released on Hulu, iTunes, MTV Geek, Amazon, Xbox and Playstation. Here's a sneak peek.

Randy Moore's live action psycho-dramatic feature Escape From Tomorrow, best known for its being secretly shot on location at Disney World in Orlando, will open in New York (at the IFC Center) and in Los Angeles (Downtown Independent and the Sundance Cinemas in Hollywood) on October 11th.

Master animator Hayao Miyazaki's final feature film, The Wind Rises, will be released in the United States this year via Touchstone Pictures. The film will open on November 8th for a one week award Oscar qualifying run at the Landmark Theater on Pico in West Los Angeles.

Animator Darrell Van Citters, who put together an art book devoted to Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol, has been spending the last few years tracking down the rarest of the rare production artwork, model sheets, publicity materials and animation drawings for a new homage to Jay Ward Productions (Bullwinkle).

June Foray to Receive TV Academy's Governor's Award
