Animation Scoop Editor Jerry Beck is a writer, animation producer and author of over 15 books on animation history. He is a former studio exec with Nickelodeon Movies and Disney, was instrumental in launching Animation Magazine, co-founded Cartoon Brew and has written for The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. He is on the faculty of Woodbury University in Burbank and his latest book is The Art of Mr. Peabody and Sherman.

Here are the first clips from the new Flash animated Tom & Jerry Show, making its US debut on Wednesday April 9th at 5:30pm. The animation was produced by Warner Bros. Animation along with Darrell VanCitters' Renegade Animation shop in Glendale.

Lest you thought you heard the last of Alpha and Omega - the two wolves who starred in the 2010 Lionsgate theatrical release from Rich Rich's Crest Animation Studios - you were mistaken. A direct-to-DVD sequel, Alpha and Omega 3: The Great Wolf Games, will be released on March 25th, 2014 direct to Walmart, Digital HD and VOD. Here's a clip.

The teaser trailer from Blue Sky's eagerly anticipated Charlie Brown 3D CG "Peanuts" feature film has been released. From the look of it, the producers have made a wise move, keeping it as faithful to Schulz art as the fans expect. I'm jazzed!

Gkids To Distribute Studio Ghibli's "The Tale of the Princess Kaguya"

GKIDS has announced it has entered into a distribution agreement with Studio Ghibli for the North American rights to the upcoming animated feature The Tale Of The Princess Kaguya. Directed by Studio Ghibli co-founder Isao Takahata, the film is slated for a late 2014 theatrical release and Awards submissions.
