Animation Scoop Editor Jerry Beck is a writer, animation producer and author of over 15 books on animation history. He is a former studio exec with Nickelodeon Movies and Disney, was instrumental in launching Animation Magazine, co-founded Cartoon Brew and has written for The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. He is on the faculty of Woodbury University in Burbank and his latest book is The Art of Mr. Peabody and Sherman.

In advance of DreamWorks Animation's Mr. Peabody & Sherman feature (scheduled for release on March 7th, 2014), comics publisher IDW Publishing will release a new comic book starring the time traveling duo. Rocky and Bullwinkle are also headed back to the comics.

I got a chance to see the first 40 minutes of "Monsters University" earlier this month. Rest assured: I've seen enough of Pixar's first prequel to report it's not only a fun and funny college romp but also another animated breakthrough.
