AMPAS-NY presents "The Art Of Illustration" on Thursday June 5th

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is presenting a panel discussion on June 5th in New York, The Art of Illustration, presented in conjunction with an exhibit at the Society of Illustrators in Manhattan. Artists will present a series of film clips of their work and participate in a panel on the craft of motion picture animation.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is presenting a panel discussion with four top animation artists, The Art of Illustrationpresented in conjunction with the "Icons of Animation" exhibit at the Society of Illustrators in Manhattan (June 4th - August 16th). 


Artists will present a series of film clips of their work and participate in a panel on the craft of motion picture animation. Animator Bill Plympton, artist Peter de Seve and illustrator William Joyce will be moderated by J.J. Sedelmaier, the panel event will take place on Thursday, June 5th at 7:00PM The Academy Theater, 111 East 59th Street (Between Park & Lexington).

This exhibit showcases four of the greatest animation artists living and working in the field today: William Joyce, Carlos Nine, Bill Plympton, and Peter de Seve. Curatorial thanks to Bill Plympton, who as a youth, was crazy about cartoons and animation and wanted to celebrate some of his colleagues who he considers his heroes.  Tickets on sale at oscars.org or the Academy Theater box office Tuesday and Thursday from 2:00pm- 5:00pm.

Ticket prices: $5 General Admission, $3 Academy Members & Students with a valid ID.
