Comic Con International - aka the San Diego Comic Con that runs from Thursday July 24 through Sunday July 27th - has unleashed its complete programming schedule today. We've jotted down (below) just some of the panels, screenings and events related to animation. Please understand this is a partial listing - and does not include events on the exhibit floor, displays around town or parties at various hotels scheduled during the four day (five days, if you count the Preview Night on Wednesday the 23rd) event.

Toy Story That Time Forgot -ABC and Disney/Pixar present an exclusive first look at the upcoming holiday special, Toy Story That Time Forgot. Executive producer Galyn Susman, director Steve Purcell and head of story Derek Thompson give you an exclusive inside look at the sketches, storyboards, and concepts that went into its making.

Moonbeam CityKey & Peele present a first look at Comedy Central’s newest animated series. Moonbeam City is an absurdist take on the gritty, sex-drenched crime dramas from the 1980s. The series follows undercover detective Dazzle Novak (voiced by Rob Lowe), a handsome idiot who commits more crimes than most criminals. His tyrannical chief, Pizzaz Miller (Elizabeth Banks), won’t get off his back, and hotshot rookie Rad Cunningham (Will Forte) is dying to see him fail. With the world against him, Dazzle is thrust into a living nightmare: having to do actual police work. Join series creator and executive producer, Scott Gairdner and the voice of Dazzle, Rob Lowe, as they reveal details for the first time on Comedy Central’s next big animated series! Panel to be moderated by Moonbeam City head-writer, Tommy Blacha.

Early Hanna Barbera TV Panel. Wouldn't it be great to be a fly on the wall in 1963 in Hanna Barbera Studios with three men who helped make it such an essential part of cartoon history? Comic-Con special guest animator Willie Ito gathers his friends and cohorts Tony Benedict (writer, Flintstones, The Jetsons) and Jerry Eisenberg (layout artist, Flintstones, Jetsons) to discuss what made early Hanna Barbera into the powerhouse of cartoon history it became. Moderated by Leslie Combemale (film artist advocate/owner, ArtInsights Animation & Film Art Gallery).

Feature Animation Panel. In recent years, animated features have enjoyed an enormous financial success: the three top-grossing animated films of 2013 accounted for 10% of the total U.S. box office. Despite this unprecedented success, critics and filmmakers have complained of a sameness creeping into the design and story of many films. Charles Solomon, an internationally respected critic and author of 16 books on the subject, will lead the discussion about the state of the animated feature and its future as both a medium of artistic expression and a financially viable form of filmmaking. David Silverman (director, The Pink Panther), Doug Sweetland (director, Storks), and Morishima Taro (associate producer, Paprika) will join the discussion.

Uncle Grandpa and Clarence panel. This should be interesting. Join the “always-entertaining cast and crew” for a behind-the-scenes look at two of the newest hit shows on Cartoon Network. Apppearing from Uncle Grandpa are creator Pete Browngardt (Uncle Grandpa), Kevin Michael Richardson (Mr. Gus), and Eric Bauza (Belly Bag). Appearing from Clarence are writer Spencer Rothbell, voice actors Tom Kenny (Tiny Miracle, Uncle Grandpa and Sumo, Clarence), and Eric Edelstein (Chad).

Ron Diamond's 15th Annual Animation Show of Shows features a selection of the best award-winning animated shorts from around the world. Kicking things off is Chris Sanders's newly remastered Fun with Father, the comically sinister student film that launched the career of the director of Lilo and Stitch, How to Train Your Dragon, and The Croods. That's followed by a selection of awesome shorts, including the hysterical Sisyphean climb to the top in Ascension from France's Supinfocom, Canadian Jonathan Ng's breakup parable of two mismatched Korean lovers in Requiem for Romance, and Muscovite Yulia Aronova's adorable tale of a very special mom in My Mom Is an Airplane.

Animation and Mexico. It all started with a little idea-creative Mexicans team up with producers and talent from Hollywood to make a big movie. The panel will share the adventures, mishaps and experiences of Mexican filmmaker Ricardo Arnaiz and his producing partners Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica), Phil Roman (The Simpsons), Verónica Arceo, Alex Flores, Gerry Cardoso, and Michael D. Olmos, who armed with a tiny budget, a big dream, and a heartfelt story managed to deliver the animated film El Americano 3D, coming to theaters worldwide 2015. They are joined by talents Rico Rodriguez (Modern Family), Raul Garcia (Aladdin), Mike Kunkel (Tarzan), and Richard Pursel (SpongeBob Squarepants) and the voices of Gabriel Iglesias (The Fluffy Movie), Cheech Marin (Cheech and Chong), Kate del Castillo (Under the Same Moon), Erik Estrada (CHIPs), and Lisa Kudrow (Friends), among many others.

Cartoon Saloon panel. The Irish Animation Studio based in Kilkenny whose film The Secret of Kells garnered an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature in 2010, will launch its much anticipated art book Designing The Secret of Kells, with the filmmakers on hand. They will also offer a sneak peek at their upcoming 2014 animated release Song of the Sea by providing exclusive footage along with a behind-the-scenes presentation by the film's director, Tomm Moore. Panelists include Tomm Moore (director) and Paul Young (producer), emcee Jamie Kezlarian Bolio (Cartoon Saloon-US; business development, PR & marketing), and moderator Don Hahn (producer Maleficent, Beauty & the Beast).

State of The Animation Industry panel. How is animation doing in 2014? How can I enter the field? Is 2D dead? Panelists Miguel Jiron (Despicable Me 2), Raul Garcia (Melon Digital S.L.), Brooke Keesling (Cartoon Network), Steve Hulett (The Animation Guild), Danny Young (Blurr Studios), and moderator Tom Sito (Beauty and the Beast, Shrek) discuss the industry across all disciplines as it is today, from motion picture production to creating animated shorts for the Internet. The panel will also talk about how animators find and create jobs.

US TV Animation panel. Around the world, animation comes in all flavors. For kids, for adults. Comedies, dramas, romances, action-adventure. But in the United States, pretty much the only animated features you see are comedies, and fewer and fewer TV series are action-adventure. Craig Miller (Curious George, Beast Wars) leads a panel of writers, producers, and network execs, including Ted Biaselli (VP, programming & development, The Hub), Brian Hohlfeld (Transformers Rescue Bots, My Friends Tigger and Pooh), and James Krieg (Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Teen Titans Go!), who'll try to explain why that is and discuss if it will ever change.

Willie Ito panel. With nearly 60 years as an animation artist, Comic-Con special guest Willie Ito has done it all. He worked at Disney on Lady and the Tramp's spaghetti scene with mentor Iwao Takamoto and on One Froggy Evening and What's Opera Doc at Warner Bros' famed Termite Terrace under Chuck Jones' direction. He went on to The Beany and Cecil Show with Bob Clampett and then Hanna Barbera for the beginnings of The Flintstones, The Jetsons, and many other cartoons. Ito has great stories and experiences to share. After HB he went to Disney Consumer Products and spearheaded implementation of collectibles and licensed products worldwide. He has also designed comic books, comic strips, coloring books, and more. Join animation expert Leslie Combemale of ArtInsights for a spotlight on Willie's life, including the part of his childhood spent in a Japanese internment camp that inspired his most recent venture, a series of children's picture books based on the experience.

Warner Archive Panel. Producer/author Michael Uslan (The Boy Who Loved Batman), producer James Tucker (Batman: The Brave and the Bold), producer/director Brandon Vietti (Young Justice), WAC Podcast hosts Matthew Patterson and DW Ferranti, and some surprise guests examine those "other" Batman iterations and oddities throughout history, from early films like Public Defender and the Filmation Batman cartoons to new versions of the character (Young Justice, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Beware the Batman), the off-kilter takes like the cult favorite "roast" of Legends of the Superheroes, and new media (motion comics like Batman: Black and White, Batgirl: Year One, and Batman Adventures: Mad Love).

Sanjay and Craig Panel. The stars of the show will perform an episode live, accompanied by clips and storyboard panels from the series. Tom & Jerry: The Lost Dragon World Premiere Screening and Panel. Tom and Jerry help return a baby dragon back to its mother-while evading a powerful witch intent on capturing the little dragon for her own wicked plans. Producers/directors Spike Brandt (Tom and Jerry's Giant Adventure) and Tony Cervone (Tom and Jerry's Giant Adventure) will be on hand to present the film, which will be released by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Digital HD on August 19 and on DVD on September 2.
