Above is the trailer for a beautiful new short film Between Times from the husband & wife animation duo Max Porter and Ru Kuwahata, who run the independent Baltimore Maryland based stop motion/CG studio Tiny Inventions. They do personal films, commercials and the occasional music video for They Might Be Giants (Electric Car).

Lynda.com has created this inspiring mini-doc (below) about the duo, with much behind-the-scenes footage on their forthcoming short. "They choose to pursue the work that they love, combining both hand-crafted and digital aspects of animation to create their unique aesthetic and voice. We follow their creative process of their new film Between Times, their longest and most intensive project yet, and how they continue to push themselves as visual storytellers."

The guy is doing that 'vocal fry' thing, it's annoying. Cool animation though.
