The upcoming Powerpuff Girls Special, 'Dance Pantsed,' has a trailer:
"They're back to save the world before bedtime -- one more time!"
The Powerpuff Girls are back in a brand new special, Dance Pantsed, premiering on Cartoon Network on Jan. 20th at 7:30 EST. With Powerpuff Girls' creator, Craig McCracken, currently making magic with Wonder Over Yonder over on the Disney Channel, directorial duties have been handed over to Dave Smith, a former writer and storyboard artist from the original Powerpuff Girlsseries. Sym-BionicTitan's Kevin Dart did the special's art direction and character re-designs, creating a fresh-yet-familiar look that somehow manages to bring to mind the work of both David OReilly and UPA.
All of the original series' voice actors will be reprising their roles, with Ringo Starr joining the cast as Fibonacci Sequins, "Townsville’s most flamboyant mathematician." Starr will also lend his unique vocal gifts to the special's accompanying pop song, I Wish I Was A Powerpuff Girl.
The special's plot, according the official press release:
In Dance Pantsed, why is Mojo Jojo kidnapping a mathematician, an opera singer and a badger? To steal Chemical X, of course, and to finally take over Townsville. But when the Powerpuff Girls thwart his plan, he invents an evil video game called “Dance Pants R-EVILution” to control their minds and bodies to fulfill his evil plot! The Professor must visit his dark dancing past to save his girls so they can save all of Townsville!
