GKIDS Announces English Language Cast for "Ernest & Celestine"

Gkids has announced the English language voice cast for their Oscar qualified animated feature Ernest and Celestine. The Twilight Saga's Mackenzie Foy (as Celestine) will join The Butler's Forest Whitaker (as Ernest) in voicng the lead characters. 

Lauren Bacall, Paul Giamatti, William H. Macy, Megan Mullally, Nick Offerman and Jeffery Wright will also loan their voices to supporting characters. Directed by Stephane Aubier, Vincent Patar, Benjamin Renner, and based on Gabrielle Vincent's children book - the film premiered at Cannes, has played Toronto, London, Los Angeles and other prestigious film festivals, is the winner of France's Cesar Award for Best Animated Feature and numerous festival prizes, and currently has a 100% rating on RottenTomatoes.com. 

It starts its initial U.S. theatrical engagements on December 6th. Below is a clip in its original French soundtrack:

    I saw it at the London Film Festival last year and found it to be the most delightful animated film of 2012.

    Well, I've never paid any attention to foreign-language animation. But I just watched this three-minute clip and I am VERY impressed! Not as slick as Disney, but the character designs are quite appealing and the animation and gags are first-rate! I look forward to seeing this film when the English-language version is ready to run! :-)!
