Actor Larry D. Mann, who's most famous riole was that of Yukon Cornelius in the 1964 animated Christmas special Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, has died. He was 91.
His son, Richard Mann, says the actor died of age-related causes on Monday in Los Angeles.
Though he appeared in many movies and TV shows (in smaller roles) he found great success and notoriety in animated films - as the voice of DePatie Freleng's theatrical shorts Blue Racer (pictured below) and Crazy Legs Crane; and Rankin-Bass' Tin Man "Rusty" in their series Tales of the Wizard Of Oz.
Beginning in the 1950s, the Canadian-born Mann had small roles in movies, including The Sting and In the Heat of the Night. On TV, his appearances included Gunsmoke, Bewitched, Captain Nice, The Green Hornet and Hill Street Blues.
He also did voice work for numerous animated shows, including Rankin-Bass' Willy McBean and His Magic Machine, Depatie Freleng's Here Comes The Grump, and Hanna-Barbera's Scooby Doo.
