Studio Ghibli co-founder, Isao Takahata (The Grave of the Fireflies) returns to directing after more than a decade with an adaptation of a classic tale of the tenth century Japanese Kaguya-hime no Monogatari (The Tale of Princess Kaguya). Based on the folktale The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, the film is drawn in a classic watercolor and brush stroke technique. This brief teaser just appeared on Japanese television - the film is scheduled for release in Tokyo later this year.

Like the traditional Asian folklore illustrations style for this film. Very unique.

Very pretty! Fans of this style may want to check out Andreas Deja's work-in-progress, Sarah and Mushka.
