Continuing the list of distinguished guest directors making cameo "couch gags" on The Simpsons, French animation director Sylvain Chomet (The Triplets of Belleville, The Illusionst) created the opening bit for this weeks episode of The Simpsons - and it is sublime!

The full episode, "Diggs", airs Sunday night March 9th at 8pm on Fox.

FYI, Chomet' latest project (swing popa swing) has been cancelled. Source is the newsletter of the french animation producers association ( animation-francedotfr/newsletter/53/ ) . And the movie has disappeared from Les Armateurs' line up.

Well that's dissapointing. What was the movie going to be about?

Nice. Even though I think these couch gags are getting to be too long, I wouldn't mind if they try to get Hayao Miyazaki to do one. Of course, that probably will never happened.
