In commemoration of our overheating, warring, poisoned planet, I've done my best to get the word out about Earth Day and champion "The Host" as one of the must-see environmental films of the year: here at MSN Movies and the Utne Reader's weekly PodCast. How often does a monster movie get this much critical attention: along with Jafar Panahi's "Offside," Metacritic rates "The Host" as the best-reviewed film so far of 2007. Not that anyone seems to be counting... With about $2 million in U.S. ticket receipts, the film just never got much traction in theaters.
