Ever since it was announced in 2006, I've been eagerly awaiting news of Lars Von Trier's "Antichrist," or anything new from the enfant terrible. The more I return to films like "Dancer in the Dark," "Breaking the Waves" and "The Idiots," the more I realize how much I think he is a brilliant, subversive artist who excites me more than any other living filmmaker.

In an interview with Von Trier, principally about his office comedy "The Boss of It All," the U.K. paper the Telegraph has a couple of updates. According to the article, "Antichrist," a "psychological thriller that evolves into a horror film"" will be his next film. "It features one man and one woman, yet to be cast, will be shot in Germany and in English this summer and deals with the favourite Von Trier topic of cruelty between the sexes." "You have to guess who is the Antichrist," producer Meta Louise Foldager told the paper.

The third part of his America trilogy, "Wasington" (the misspelling is deliberate) is on indefinite hold. "It's my intention to conclude the trilogy," Von Trier said. "But it's not going to be my next work because it's an obligation. I feel the film has to come to me."

The paper also reports Von Trier is pursuing a long-term project begun in 1991: "Dimension," a crime movie that involves making a three-minute short every Christmas at different European locations over 33 years.
