There's a great conversation going on right now about film criticism at WYNC. Philip Lopate is touting his new book "American Movie Critics: From the Silents Until Now," discussing everyone from J. Hoberman and Jonathan Rosenbaum to Pauline Kael and Manohla Dargis. On Monday, Lopate -- together with critics Kent Jones, Andrew Sarris, J. Hoberman, and Stanley Kauffmann -- will show Godard's Contempt and discuss the state of film criticism at The Walter Reade Theater at Lincoln Center.
