As if to prove they still have an interest in foreign language films, Bob and Harvey Weinstein are planning to produce the only type of foreign language film that means anything to them: a pre-packaged, pre-sold, already established action-film franchise: They're developing Chinese author Wang Du Lu's "Crane -- Iron Pentalogy," a series of five books that includes "Crouching, Tiger, Hidden Dragon" as its fourth installment, reports Variety. (They also are planning to produce a stage version of "Tiger" that is a "combination spectacle and musical," Harvey is quoted as saying in the story.)
Weinstein also said he would like to approach original "Tiger" helmer Ang Lee and producer Bill Kong about coming on board. Yeah, dream on, Harvey, dream on.
