March is upon us and it's a great month for LGBT film festival around the world. So in the first in a monthly series here at /bent, we're offering a directory of some of the most notable festivals to get your queer cinema on over the next 4 weeks.

March is upon us and it's a great month for LGBT film festival around the world.  So in the first in a monthly series here at /bent, we're offering a directory of some of the most notable festivals to get your queer cinema on over the next 4 weeks. Festival Ecrans Mixtes
When: March 3-11
Where: Lyons, France
Programming Highlights: Fantastic docs "I Am Divine" and "Bambi" will bookend the fest, while LGBT highlights from the past year -- "Concussion," "Free Fall," "Call Me Kuchu," "Salvation Army" and "Gerontophilia" -- will screen alongside retrospectives on Derek Jarman and Kenneth Anger.

Melbourne Queer Film Festival

When: March 13-23
Where: Melbourne, Australia 
Programming Highlights: 1980s-set Alan Cummings starrer "Any Day Now" will open the festival, followed by the likes of "Free Fall," "Pit Stop," "G.B.F.," "Test," "I Am Divine" and "Gerontophilia" in the 10 days that follow.

Rose Filmdagen
When: March 13-23
Where: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Programming Highlights: Amsterdam will somehow get a little gayer come March 13th, with Xavier Dolan's "Tom at the Farm" kicking things off.  Dolan's fellow Quebec filmmaker Denis Cote's "Vic and Flo Saw a Bear" is among the films screening in the rest of festival, as is "Blue is the Warmest Color," "Valentine Road," "G.B.F.," "Stranger By The Lake," "Test," "Pit Stop" and "Before You Know It."

Fusion LGBT People of Color Festival 
When: March 14-16
Where: Los Angeles, Califonia 
Programming Highlights: Mo'Nique's first performance since winning an Oscar comes via opening night film "Blackbird," while the festival will also feature world premieres of "Secrets & Toys" directed by Quentin Lee (White Frog) and "You are Dead to Me" starring Harmony Santana (Gun Hill Road).  Korean filmmaker Leesong Hee-il’s "White Night" will have its US Premiere.

BFI FLARE

When: March 20-30
Where: London, England
Programming Highlights: The BFI London Gay & Lesbian Film Festival has announced their 2014 program, and a new name... BFI FLARE.  The festival open with Hong Khaou's "Lilting" (which was featured on /bent out of Sundance), and close with Sophie Hyde's "52 Tuesdays," which just won the Crystal Bear at the Berlin Film Festival. Also in the first FLARE: "Concussion," "Test," "Reaching For The Moon," "Continental," "Bridegroom" and "C.O.G."
