Interview: Talking To The Epic Team Behind Sundance Award Winning Doc 'The Case Against 8'

Ben Cotner and Ryan White deservedly won the doc directing prize at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival this past weekend for their film "The Case Against 8." Shot over five years, the film offers an incredible inside look at the legal battle behind overturning Proposition 8, which banned same-sex marriage in California back in 2008. It's an inspiring journey that Cotner and White (along with editor Kate Amend) tightly put together into a very powerful film about a legal battle that will and has dramatically changed the legal rights situation for gay and lesbian couples in the US.

To Be Takei
At 76 years old, George Takei has managed an impressive transition from being known best for playing Sulu in the original "Star Trek" television series and movies to becoming a poster boy for LGBT rights and a considerable internet sensation (he has nearly 6 million Facebook followers) thanks to his very popular memes. And now, Takei has his very own documentary to highlight that journey (among other things) and continue to confirm how endearing a figure he really is.

14 LGBT Films To Look Out For At The 2014 Sundance Film Festival

This year's festival -- which kicks of tomorrow -- is primed to add a few more films to that list. Of the 115 feature films screening at Sundance, at least 15 of them feature prominent queer content and characters. Those are ratios that would please Kinsey, and collectively these films should end up becoming a sizeable portion of LGBT film festival programming for the next year (though Berlin and SXSW are likely to add a few more options in the next couple of months).
