Although it will ultimately fall short of "Captain America" with its $95 million three day, "Amazing Spider-Man 2" still cast its web over a strong $92 million weekend, leaving the rest of the box office comers in the dust. The Andrew Garfield superhero tale took in additional $116 million overseas with more territories still to come (the film opens today in China).

Although it ultimately fell short of "Captain America" with its $95 million three day, "Amazing Spider-Man 2" still cast its web  over a strong $92 million weekend, leaving the rest of the box office comers in the dust.  The Andrew Garfield superhero tale took in additional $116 million overseas with more territories still to come (the film opens today in China), propelling its international total to $275 million.

Spidey played well with families, as the franchise has always done in the past, with 51% of the weekend box office coming from those under age 25.  Males were dominant, again as always, with 61% of the crowd being male.

Elsewhere, "The Other Woman" held in well at $14.2 million and the "Heaven Is For Real" machine just keeps humming along, adding an additional $8.7 to the collection plate, driving the cume to $66 million.
