Zach Braff's "Wish I Was Here" leads this week's indie releases as his Kickstarter film finally makes it to the big screen.

Wish I Was Here

Director/star Zach Braff's "Wish I Was Here" leads this week's indie releases.  The "Scrubs" star and "Garden State" director effectively used a Kickstarter campaign to get this film financed and Focus finally gets it on the big screen this weekend.  The movie focuses on Braff's character, a 30-something man dealing with multiple crossroads in his life and also stars Kate Hudson, Josh Gad, Mandy Patinkin, Jim Parsons and Ashley Green.  Look for roughly 65 runs this week with further expansion planned.

I Origins

In addition, Fox Searchlight opens 4 runs in New York and Los Angeles on Mike Cahill's "I Origins".  Michael Pitt plays a molecular biologist who travels the world to vindicate his stunning scientific discovery.

Lastly, IFC's hit "Boyhood" expands to the top 10 markets.  July 25th will see the film move to the top 25 markets with wider expansions on both August 1st and 8th.
