Sony announced today that it is moving the Cameron Diaz/Jason Segel comedy, "Sex Tape" from July 25th to July 18th. In vacating the 25th, it avoids a box office showdown with Universal's Scarlett Johansson actioner, "Lucy", Paramount's "Hercules" and Lionsgate's latest "Step Up" movie. But it's not like it has it much easier on the 18th as there it will wage war against Disney's "Planes: Fire And Rescue", Universal's "The Purge: Anarchy" and the Wachowski's sci fi title, "Jupiter Ascending" with Channing Tatum, in addition to more limited releases of Zach Braff's "Wish I Was Here" and Fox Searchlight's "I Origins". More will be revealed on July 18th. Stay tuned.
