The Other Woman

UPDATED THREE DAY ESTIMATES

Everyone has to be happy at the end of Motor Drive this morning as the gang at Fox have a #1 film that exceeded expert prognostication.  "The Other Woman" opened to $25.4 million for the three day stanza and easily won the box office derby this weekend.  Audiences seemed to like the film as the Cinemascore was an acceptable B+.  "Captain America" came out victorious in the battle for the Place position with "Heaven Is For Real".  Finally,  as predicted, "Transcendence" suffered a a 64% percent drop from its debut week.  Ouch.

As far as the other openers are concerned, Relativity's "Brick Mansions" could only muster $9.6 million but that ended up being more than twice as much as the other debuter, "The Quiet Ones" (insert your own joke about how "quiet" the grosses were), which landed with a thud at $3.8 million.

2.  CAPTAIN AMERICA: WINTER SOLDIER--BV--15.9 MILLION

3.  HEAVEN IS FOR REAL--SONY/TRI-STAR--$13.9 MILLION

4.  RIO 2--FOX--$12.7 MILLION

5.  BRICK MANSIONS--RELATIVITY--$9.6 MILLION
