Let me make this clear, I cannot, cannot, cannot wait for this movie. If you grew up in Boston in the 1970's you knew Whitey Bulger. He ran organized crime in that city for decades. What none of us knew, however, was that his main accomplice was the very agency sworn to bring him to justice, the FBI.

Let me make this clear, I cannot, cannot, cannot wait for this movie!  If you grew up in Boston in the 1970's you knew Whitey Bulger because everyone knew Whitey.  He ran organized crime in that city for decades, ultimately surviving a twenty year battle with the Italian Patriarca crime family.  For the love of Pete his brother Billy served for years as President of the Massachusetts State Senate.  Billy's St. Patrick's Day Breakfasts were legendary for bringing in every major U.S. President during that time along with other national and international dignitaries, while at the same time his brother was carrying out a reign of terror that would have been envied by Robespierre.

What none of us knew, however, was that Whitey's main accomplice during this time was actually the very agency sworn to bring his to justice, the FBI.  Bulger's association with the agency and the backstabbing and betrayal which ultimately would lead to Bulger's arrest in a modest Santa Monica apartment complex in June 2011 is brought to life on the big screen in Magnolia's "Whitey" The United States of America Vs. James Bulger".  The film will be released June 27th in theatres and on VOD.   Here's the new trailer...
