Two spinoffs of successful franchises highlight this week's release schedule changes as "Star Wars" and "LEGO" offshoots both move into fall 2016.  Here's the complete list

UNTITLED STAR WARS SPINOFF---BV--IN 12/16/16
Right now the only other title on that date is "Alvin & The Chipmunks 4", hardly the same audience.

THE GUNMAN---OPEN ROAD---IN 2/20/15
Sean Penn battles Natalie Portman at High Noon as "The Gunman" moves onto the date currently occupied by "Jane's Got A Gun"

NINJAGO--WB--IN 9/23/16
Warners looks to take over that late September slot from Sony Animation, which has enjoyed success there with the "Cloudy With A Chance..." films, with this "LEGO" side project.  SPA currently has an untitled animated film on that date.

LUCY---UNIVERSAL---IN 7/25/14   OUT-8/8/14
This Scarlett Johansson sci-fi actioner from director Luc Besson moves off a very busy week that had "TM Ninja Turtles", "Into The Storm" and "The 100-Foot Journey"
and into the fray with "Hercules", "Sex Tape" and "Step Up: All In".  Hmmm, why do I foresee more movement here?

MONSTER HIGH---UNIVERSAL---IN 10/7/16
Good counter-programming against Ben Affleck's ultra adult "Live By Night"

This article is related to: Lucy, Ninjago, Monster High
