Well it's about time.

The Nice Guys, a script written by Shane Black and Anthony Bagarozzi, is an action comedy that may finally make it to the big screen according to The Wrap. The script, which has been around for about 8 years, had been through the development process (from what I was told) with none other than Susan Downey, when she was still at Joel Silver's company.

Since the release of his directorial debut, Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, Mr. Black, who began his career with at the age of 22

Russell Crowe

with Lethal Weapon, had seen his fortune as a writer/director sink for a few years, but he never gave up on The Nice Guys. The story is a sexy, dark, comedic thriller with a theme that some may find a bit 1970s-era misogynistic (true to the time period) but that Prius and Volt drivers can appreciate too. And with Mr. Black's talent for macho bromances, it will no doubt appeal to even the coolest of dudes and the most average of Joes.

With the recent mega-success of Iron Man 3, which Mr. Black co-wrote and directed, his Nice Guys

Ryan Gosling

project has finally been resurrected. WME and Joel Silver are the players involved in putting together the packaging and are rumored to be in talks with Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling as the stars.

Looking at my copy of the script from five years ago, which no doubt has been rewritten, it's hard not to share some tidbits of what makes it so special, but hopefully audiences everywhere will soon know why I've been such a fan.
