the rover

This past weekend A24, who's on a roll so far this year, opened the Guy Pearce Aussie thriller, "The Rover", in five theatres to a per screen average of $14,000.  Although that's hardly an eye popping PSA, the film has been well reviewed and expands nationwide this coming weekend.

Elsewhere, the nomination for Best Cast In A Limited Release (Comedy/Drama) goes to Sony Classics' "Third Person", opening New York and Los Angeles.  The film, directed by "Crash" helmer Paul Haggi and starring Liam Neeson, Mila Kunis, Adrien Brody and James Franco, revolves around three interlocking love stories set in in New York, Paris and Rome.

humshakals

Lastly, fire up the samosas as Fox returns to Bollywood this week with Saif Ali Khan and Ram Kapoor in the musical romance, "Humshakals".  Khan is one Bollywood's major stars so this offering should be a nice mid-range success for Fox.
