Looking for that absolutely perfect release date, both "Laggies" and "Jessabelle" move into late fall as three titles get the 2015 treatment in this week's release schedule changes.

THE REVENANT---FOX---IN 12/25/15
1800's back woods survivor tale from director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy.  Christmas season 2015 is shaping up to be earth shattering with "Star Wars: Episode VII" on 12/18, "Kung Fu Panda 3" on 12/23, Fox's "Joy" from director David O. Russell and Paramount's "Mission: Impossible 5", both on Christmas Day.

CHILD 44---LIONSGATE---IN 4/17/15
Tom Hardy (yes again) stars as an ex-KGB officer investigating a series of child murders.  Talk about an April logjam-4/17 already has Sony's "Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2", director Tarsem's sci-fi thriller "Selfless" from Focus and BV's Earth Day offering "Monkey Kingdom".  I guess they can all serve as counter-programming to the others but still that's a ton of titles for mid April.

Romantic drama based on the Jojo Moyes best selling novel, the film currently sits alone on this late August playdate.

LAGGIES---A24---IN 10/24/14   OUT 9/26/15
Keira Knightley, Chloe Moretz comedy moves off a week that currently has four existing limited titles plus Sony's "The Equalizer" and onto a more comfortable spot as counter-programming vs. "Kingsman", "Paranormal Activity 5" and "Ouija"

JESSABELLE---LIONSGATE---IN 11/7/14   OUT 8/29/14
Horror title moves off a relatively light release date and into the thick of the start of the holiday season, against "Big Hero 6" and "Interstellar".  Hmmmmm.

TUSK---A24---IN 9/19/14
The true story of Fleetwood Mac's interaction with the USC Marching Band for their hit song "Tusk" is chronicled in.....oh wait, that's not what this movie is about?  Drats.  Oh right, Kevin Smith directs Haley Joel Osment in this Canadian survival tale.  It's not like 9/19 isn't already packed, with "Maze Runner", "Walk Among The Tombstones", "This Is Where I Leave You", "Tracks" and "Hector and the Search For Happiness".
