Both quantity and quality have helped Warners grab hold of the box office market share lead and with "Edge of Tomorrow" and "Jersey Boys" on the release schedule horizon they should have a solid hold on the title for quite some time. Disney, which had been locked in a battle with Sony for the #2 slot, rode Angelina Jolie and a sleeping beauty firmly into the Place position this past weekend with "Maleficent".  Don't look now but Fox has navigated into the #3 post and upcoming back-to-back weeks of "The Fault In Our Stars" and "How To Train Your Dragon 2" should have them nibbling at Disney's heels, especially considering the Mouse House will lie dormant from a release schedule point of view until the middle of July.

Based on this weekend's estimates, here's how I have projected an up-to-the-minute market share race...

1)   WARNER BROTHERS--$725 million (est.)
Upcoming titles-"Edge of Tomorrow" 6/6, "Jersey Boys" 6/20, "Tammy" 7/2

2)   DISNEY---$650 million (est.)
Upcoming titles---Nothing until "Planes: Fire & Rescue" on 7/18

3)   FOX---$595 million (est.)

4)   SONY---$590 million (est.)

5)   UNIVERSAL---$535 million (est.)
Upcoming titles---Nothing until "Purge: Anarchy" on 7/18

6)   PARAMOUNT---$322 million (est.)
Upcoming titles---"Transformers: Age Of Extinction" 6/27

7)   LIONSGATE---$283 million (est.)
Upcoming titles---Nothing until "Step Up: All In" 7/25

8)   OPEN ROAD---$100 million (est.)
