The Imitation Game

And just like that, Weinstein just put three films on your radar.  The company announced that "(The Disappearance Of) Eleanor Rigby" will be released on September 26th of this year.  The film focuses on two exes, played by Jessica Chastain and James McAvoy, who have to come to terms with a tragedy.  It goes up against the Denzel thriller/drama "The Equalizer" and both Focus' animated "Boxtrolls" and A24's "Laggies".

In addition, TWC has slotted 11/21/14 for "The Imitation Game", with Box Office Insider's favorite actor Benedict Cumberbatch as an Enigma Code cracker in World War II.  Sounds Oscar worthy to me and there's nothing that could figure in on the Oscar race around Thanksgiving.

Finally, Tim Burton's latest, "Big Eyes", will be released Christmas Day.  The film stars Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz in the biopic of painter Margaret Keane and her husband Walter, who claimed credit for her paintings in the 1960's.
