Michelle Obama’s initiative to get kids to exercise took a high-profile, witty turn when she taped a segment for Late Night, challenging Jimmy Fallon in push-ups, a hula-hoop competition, and a tie-breaking potato sack race.
Fallon was willing to dress in a garish skin-tight exercise outfit (quickly discarded), but it was the First Lady who stole the segment with her ease and energy as she jumped around the White House. It will be very interesting to see what she does in her post-White House career. She doesn’t seem to have Hillary Clinton’s policy-wonk bent, but she is devoted to social change, and she has quietly become the coolest First Lady ever.
