“Rejected Pitches,” the on-line comedy series that plays out typical Hollywood rejections of very successful films, takes on this year’s crop of Oscar  nominees with some priceless responses to Silver Linings Playbook, Argo and Beasts of the Southern Wild: “I love Hushpuppy – she’s so sassy! Everything else can go.”

The series comes from Above Average Productions, part of Lorne Mchaels’ Broadway Video empire – which explains why SNL’s Fred Armisen is there as Michael Haneke pitching Amour. The video actually works a little better without him, when the satire stays closer to reality -- Armisen’s oversized silver wig is too heavy-handed a sight gag -- but take a look at these very funny, all-too-likely reponses to Hollywood’s biggest no-no: originality. You can watch Part 2 of the "Rejected Pitches" Oscar special, witih Tom Hooper and Kathryn Bigelow impersonators, here.
