Jean Dujardin Drops By; Watch SNL's Charming Homage to The Artist

OK, I surrender – if not to The Artist, to the charming, exuberant SNL dance sketch and Artist tribute starring Jean Dujardin himself.

The sketch began as Les Jeunes de Paris, usually a droll parody of Francophile cliches; the wardrobe alone seemed to be perfect for host Zooey Deschanel.

Then Dujardin turned up, clicked a switch that changed everything to black and white, and the dancing began. Kristen Wiig took the Berenice Bejo part.

The sketch may be a shameless plug for the film at Oscar time, but what can you do except give in? (You can still go on rooting for The Descendants or Hugo to win.)

I hope Dujardin gets a hosting gig! He's fantastic!

I would love to have Dujardin hosting SNL.

Pretty much similar to Jesse Eisenberg from The Social Network last year: the other first night spent with hosting SNL, after then soon caught a plane taxi head to BAFTA, amazingly exhausted. ; Meanwhile the sexy French dude just stays more in the English language enviornment.

And why would SNL / NBC / Universal be plugging for The Artist to win? Not sure I getcha there.
