Ernest Hemingway – genius writer or macho cliche? Or both? Stephen Colbert's latest installment of The Colbert Book Club, lovingly and admittedly stolen from Oprah, lets you choose, as the host puts on a safari jacket, holds a gun and swigs from a wineskin while pretending to have read A Farewell to Arms.

Lee Daniels' The Butler is some serious, probably effective Oscar bait. It is also -- these things so often go together -- audience-pandering History Lite. Forest Whitaker, as a butler who serves at the White House through eight Presidents, from Eisenhower to Reagan, gives a dazzling performance; he is by far the film's greatest strength. But even he can't make up for a movie calculated to spoon feed viewers a civil rights lesson that lets us feel good about the country's progress, without adding much substance or nuance to the conversation.

After the success of his hilarious all-star fake trailer, Movie: The Movie, which premiered after last year’s Oscars -- and has been viewed over 20 million times on YouTube alone, more than 30 million overall -- Jimmy Kimmel has come back with a follow-up. As he says, "When you have a big success in Hollywood, there's only one reasonable thing you can do: cheapen it with a sequel.”

When Oprah was Jimmy Kimmel’s guest on his Post-Oscar show, she didn’t just turn up to promote her network, OWN. She got advice from Kimmel, who in this short film suggests several new shows to boost OWN’s ratings, including Book Club Fight Club. In their interview, Oprah said she wants to act more, and this is a pretty good start if she wants to do comedy.
