skyfall, and Tarintino, are the big snubs, but nothing really suprising. Lincoln will sweep it. Not a great film, but it's a real good one.

For what it's worth, I would have enjoyed the 'elaborate introduction'. It's easy enough to find the list of nominations, but informed analysis and opinion are much more interesting and hard to come by.

I dunno...Silver Linings Playbook was good...but it wasn't THAT good... it was definitely more interesting and dealt with things a little more profound then your average romantic comedy...but it was still a romantic comedy...

Well, let's be real, we all knew "The Master" (whether you hate it with a passion or not) wasn't going to win over the Academy. If Phoenix wins, I'd be elated, but it won't happen. Cinemtography? I agree. The oscars are about who can suck the most dick. That's all.

The inclusion of David O. Russell for best director is sort of baffling to me. Same with Life of Pi for writing, as I've heard lots of people agree that the way the story is framed at a script level is clunky and doesn't work as well as it should.
