John Oliver has wasted no time embracing the freedoms that come with his new premium-cable gig on HBO's "Last Week Tonight." He dropped an f-bomb in the very first week, and in the third, he's going full-frontal. After taking aim at the gender-imbalanced nudity on HBO's flagship shows by flashing a few gratuitous male members, he followed up with this amazing bit, pumping new blood into the positively ancient tactic of parodying campaign attack ads:
At Mother Jones, Asawin Suebsaeng hits Oliver with the question we've all been dying to ask: Why that particular old-man penis? And who made the final call?
Mother Jones: How did you get to one you liked? Like, what is the process of "getting" penii?
John Oliver: We went through photos. It was basically the penis version of a headshot.
MJ: So this was like models?
JO: Models, basically. And you go through and say, "This one's good, this one's good, let's get down to a short-list. Okay, it's between these three. Um. I like this one." And then what you do is you make a decision, you walk out of a room, and you stare out a window and question what the fuck you're doing with your life...That's basically how it goes.
Too bad they didn't follow up by interviewing the penis's owner, or heck, the silver-haired schlong itself, but surely someone will get around to that soon enough.
