David Ehrlich of FIlm.com counts down the year's 25 best, with some surprising entries.

With the New York Film Critics Film Circle unveiling its winners on its Twitter account, the awards-giving season is officially in full swing, and with it comes the annual deluge of Top 10 lists. It's easy to get caught up in the rush, but David Ehrlich's video countdown of his 25 favorites is a way to slow down for a just a few minutes and absorb each film in turn, recalling the great moments that enlivened even some of the less widely loved films. (Say what you will about Stoker, but Mia Waisikowska and Matthew Goode's incestuously charged piano duet is hard to beat.) Ehrlich was kind enough to let Criticwire embed the video, so we won't give away his list, but keep an eye out for numbers 21, 16, 13 and 10, which haven't made many appearances in the lists we've seen so far. As he suggests, play it fullscreen, and play it loud.
