Pull Quote: "I am very proud of this film."

AuthorSalman Rushdie, author of the novel "Midnight's Children"

Why It's WeirdBecause Salman Rushdie isn't just the author of the novel "Midnight's Children." He's also the screenwriter of the film version of "Midnight's Children." And the executive producer. And the narrator. With any adaptation of a popular book, it's important to have the writer's blessing -- nobody wants to see a movie version of "Harry Potter" that J.K. Rowling hates. But when the writer is also the producer and the narrator and the screenwriter, isn't their endorsement kind of implied? You don't see Steven Spielberg putting quotes on his movies' posters. "This is one of the better ones I've done recently!" -- Steven Spielberg, director of "Lincoln."
