Searchable Sundance is Sort of Here

Well, it's ready. The web engine for Searchable Sundance is ready. I only have 1986 databased so far, but you can go try it out and see how cool it's going to be by the end of the June (it takes three or four days to do each year and I have 20 YEARS of catalogs to do).
You'll notice the link on the upper right hand corner of this page. It leads to the instruction page which then goes to the actual database engine. If you'd rather bookmark the database page directly, you can do that, too.
A few people have asked my why I'm doing this and the less subtle have asked if there aren't more important things I could be spending my time on. Well, I love the Sundance Film Festival and I've always wanted one source where I could find all of the films, winners, cast members, directors easily. I wanted to know the repeat appearances. I wanted to know who got his or her start at Sundance. I decided that doing the site would make me learn all of that ... and that other people might like it, too.
If you think it's crazy, go to the Sundance Site and see how easily you can find all of this information. Or go to the Internet Movie Database site and look there. I think it will be useful.
