Sundance Institute Accepting Applications for the 2005 Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship

The Sundance Institute Feature Film Program is seeking applications for the 2005 Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship. The Fellowship will provide support for a script, from inception to pre-production, that explores science or technology themes or that depict scientists, engineers, or mathematicians in engaging and innovative ways. The Fellowship was established in 2003 with a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation as part of a multi-faceted project designed to foster the development and exhibition of new independent film projects on science or technology themes. The multi-year effort blends the Sloan Foundation’s goal of enhancing public understanding of science and technology with Sundance Institute’s mission to foster independent voices and compelling storytelling in film. The program also includes the annual Alfred P. Sloan Prize, presented to a film at the Sundance Film Festival that focuses on science and technology themes. The recipient at the 2004 Festival was PRIMER, which also received the Dramatic Grand Jury Prize. PRIMER will be distributed this fall by ThinkFilm.
