OUTFEST 2005 call for entries

Outfest 2005, one of the world’s largest gay and lesbian film festivals, opens its call for submissions for completed narrative, documentary, experimental and animated films and videos (both features and shorts). To be held in Los Angeles July 7-18, 2005, filmmakers from across the country and around the globe are invited to submit their work and join in the celebration of the gay and lesbian community’s vision and artistry. Submission forms, rules and regulations are available on the Outfest web site. The submission deadline is March 11th and final decisions will be announced by May 31st.

7th Annual Method Fest Seeks Strong Acting films

"The 7th annual The Method Fest independent film festival, scheduled for April 1-8, 2005 at Edwards Grand Palace Stadium 6 Cinemas at the Commons at Calabasas, Calif., is looking for story-driven films featuring strong acting performances. The Method Fest, celebrating breakout acting performances in independent film, is the only film festival in America that puts its focus on the actor, believing acting is the core ingredient to independent film. Deadlines for film submissions for the event are December 5 (early) and January 23, 2005 (late deadline). Entry fees are $40 (early) and $50 (late) for features; $30 (early) and $40 (late) for short films; student entries are $25. Screen formats accepted are 35 mm, Beta SP and DigiBeta. The Philadelphia Film Society invites filmmakers and videographers from around the world to submit works to the 2005 Philadelphia Film Festival, to be held April 7-20. The Festival is seeking all genres – features, shorts, animation and documentaries in film or video formats. The deadline for entries is Friday, January 14, 2005. To enter, filmmakers should visit the Film Society’s website for an online application and rules.

Tribeca Film Festival call for entries

The early deadline for the Tribeca Film Festival has passed, and final deadlines are approaching quickly. December 10 is the final date shorts can be sumitted, while December 17 is the final deadline for features. Tribeca takes place April 21 - May 1 in Lower Manhattan.
