Spotlight on... The Go! Team
To kick off the frenzy that is South by Southwest (SxSW), I will talk about bands that I am thrilled are listed on this year's list. Bands that I mention are bands that I personally want to see.
Band to see: The Go! Team (Brighton, UK)
Why: Exciting and electric stage shows. Their youthful energy and fan-centric shows are what makes this band stand out from other newcomers. You can't go wrong if the lead singer's nickname is Ninja. And it's fruitless to ask this band what they sound like. It's like asking them what color underwear I'm wearing. Fruitless and rhetorical. They will always answer something like, "...a mix of other styles of music." But if you must ask, then the best way I can describe it is Sesame Street on speed infused with hints of Jackson 5 meets Lee Greenwood and Nancy Sinatra and a pinch of Sonic Youth. Ok?
