"24" + Japan = Calorie Mate commercial

Japan really loves 24. I mean, REALLY LOVES 24. Check out one of the Calorie Mate commercials that features Keifer Sutherland.

When I visit Tokyo, I'm going to have to try this Calorie Mate. I know its featured prominently in all the Metal Gear Solid video games. I love that game.

And now for 2007

I went MIA for over a month. I had to. Lots of things just landed on my plate and some of those things will come to fruition in a month or two. Comcast viewers of Anime Selects will be treated to something great starting in February. We're devoting the month of February to airing the first 13 episodes of Marmalade Boy. This was in response to a lot of viewer feedback on missing episodes. So there you go. But there will be more surprises in the coming weeks. Here's a hint at one -----> flying people to Tokyo for free for Tokyo Anime Fair. Details will appear on the Anime Selects website and on VOD in February.

On the Goldfrapp front, the band was nominated for two Grammy Awards. Congrats to them! I wish them the best as they compete against the likes of Madonna and Justin Timberlake for the same gramophone. On top of that, Rolling Stone Magazine listed Supernature as one of the Top 50 albums of 2006 as well as listing "Ooh La La" as one of the 100 Best Songs of 2006. Flattering but can you say bandwagon? I mean, sure its great getting recognized by Rolling Stone but who cares these days? Anyway, congrats to the Mute/EMI marketing machine as well as the branding companies Tsunami Entertainment and Emoto Music for pounding the sounds of Goldfrapp into everything from Verizon to Target ads.

My 2006 was a good year. But I think 2007 will be better.
