Doc Linkage | "Bird's Nest Preview"; "Trouble" Reviews; 34x25x36 on You Tube

[Mark Rabinowitz] What's a happ'nin around the Internets, these days? Oh, just some reviews, some new distribution ideas and other bits n' bobs. Check 'em out, yo!

"Bird's Nest" Pre-Release Olympics-Sized Tease-o-Rama!
Agnes Varnum and indieWIRE are reporting on how Icarus Films are offering a preview on Amazon Unboxed of their upcoming doc "Bird's Nest" by Christoph Schaub & Michael Schindhelm about the 5-year design and construction of the Olympic stadium in Beijing. I keep hearing about a Beta test that works for Macs, but I can't find it! Would love to hear how the film is, as the trailer's really cool. See?

"Trouble the Water" Reviews: Apparently, You Likes, You Really Likes!
Over at my other blog, The Rabbi Report, we're re-running Adam Schartoff's glowing review of Tia Lessin and Carl Deal's film and our sister pub (Mother? Maiden Auntie?) indieWIRE has a very positive review by Michael Joshua Rowin, courtesy of Reverse Shot.

You Tube Screening Room: Pretty Cool, Yo!
Over at You Tube's screening room, an important short doc by one of Filmmaker Magazine's 25 New Faces of Independent Film, Jesse Epstein, is screening. It's called "34x25x36" and it's one of three films she's made about body image, both male and female, with an eye towards making a feature. "Body image is such a huge topic," Epstein said in her Filmmaker interview, "and I'm trying to raise the discussion through different styles and different cultural definitions of what's attractive." Well, right on, sister! Keeping with the theme, why not link to ourselves? In one of our first posts here at Docsider, we linked to an interview with Jesse's producer Trish Dalton. If you missed that, why not read it here? Check out Jesse's You Tube user page, here. Here's a trailer for another one of her films:
