Between FilmSlam, Springsteen Live in the UK on Father's Day, and this weekend's Bucket-List Brunch/"10 Films to See on the Big Screen Before You Die" screening of a 35mm print of George Lucas' early 60s coming-of-age classic, AMERICAN GRAFFITI, Sunday afternoon at Enzian is becoming the hip place to be. A healthy turnout of friends, supporters, filmmakers, and Central Florida indie film lovers made June's edition of our monthly FilmSlam another successful community program.
As always, ballots were given out to audience members to determine three winners, with the first place honors getting an automatic bye into December's Brouhaha Film & Video Showcase. This month it was an Orlando sweep, with 1st place awarded to MARVEL, the latest music video from local phenoms Solillaquists of Sound, directed by X:144. 2nd Place went to Truman Rexti's gunshot drama, DEREK, and 3rd Place was awarded to Mike Lowther's JACKED, in which three random burglars try to steal a car...at the very same time.
Congratulations to all the filmmakers, and don't forget to come in from the summer heat and join us for the always cool July FilmSlam at 1PM on Sunday, July 11.
