Has it really been two weeks since the last "Sessions at Eden Bar" provided such a memorable alternative to the mid-week blues? After all, what could be better on a summer evening than drinking a tasty, cold beverage at the lovely Eden Bar in Enzian's picturesque courtyard while listening to some of the community's best new musicians perform live and acoustic for everyone's enjoyment (and no cover charge!)? "Sessions" returns tomorrow, Wednesday 7/8, at 7:30 PM with the talents of Andy Matchett and Holly Riggs. Ms. Riggs is an all-around renaisssance woman, a singer-songwriter, visual artist, and jewelry designer who is currently returning to her roots in the theatre. And according to her bio, she "has come from the burbs to show us all that 'soul' is not where you grew up, it is what you choose to give of yourself and to yourself. She is the girl next door who happens to be from another world..." Rock on, Holly.
Andy Matchett is a Florida-based singer/songwriter who's been in a variety of bands since 1995 in Orlando, Tallahassee, and Washington D.C. He likes to sing about family, lovers, and the complicated relationships in American life. Influences include highlights from his parents' record collections (the Beatles, Neil Young, James Taylor) and his late-night MTV years (Foo Fighters, REM, Weezer, Smashing Pumpkins), and his debut full-length LP, THE APPLE TREE CIRCLE, produced by Justin Beckler (Matt Butcher & the Revolvers, Amy Steinberg), is due out in mid-2009. Hopefully that means he'll even have some ready for purchase at the gig.
So even if you've already seen SHALL WE KISS?, the smart and witty French romantic comedy ending its Enzian run this Thursday, come visit and check out the sounds of Holly and Andy at Eden Bar. As always, there's plenty of yummy drink specials ($4 Mojitos, Caipirinhas, Cuba Libres, and Arnold Palmers) and guests with table reservations receive 50% off a bottle of wine.
