Congratulations to Enzian’s own Matthew Curtis, the theater’s programming director who was recently honored by the Florida Film Critics Circle (FFCC) with the Golden Orange award. This distinction is given each year to individuals who exhibit significant contributions to film and filmmaking in Florida.

We’re quite excited as this statewide recognition was also recently featured on indieWIRE.com, the leading news, information, and networking site for independent film industry, and Variety.com, the premier source of entertainment news since 1905.

Matthew has brought award-winning and internationally-lauded films to the community during his 23-year career with Enzian and the Florida Film Festival. FFCC explained that it is his expertise in and dedication to expanding Central Florida’s accessibility to critically-acclaimed cinema that has made him a significant component to the state’s film culture for over two decades.

“We’re quite proud and ecstatic about Matthew’s recognition,” said Enzian President Henry Maldonado. “We’ve always known we had a leader in the independent film industry here at Enzian, and we’re excited to hear that the Central Florida community and beyond have also recognized his exceptional abilities and contributions.”

Your passion and knowledge is an inspiration, Matthew. You’re my personal mentor and friend, and on behalf of the entire Enzian / Florida Film Festival family, “Congratulations!”
