Monsoon-like rains for days on end have screwed up Enzian's outdoor movie schedule bigtime. Whatever happened to April showers bring May flowers? It's not April and it's not summer yet, but I think the flowers are drowning in the floods. Tornado warnings keep popping up, and a small one even touched down in Casselberry a couple of days ago and damaged 11 homes. So hopefully the weather will ease off a bit and the ground will dry up and we'll be ready to go with rescheduled Popcorn Flicks. Because who doesn't like free movies and free popcorn under the stars?

KING KONG VS. GODZILLA (1962), the clash of the titans when it comes to movie monsters and icons, will try again this coming Thursday, 5/28, at 8 PM (or sunset) in Central Park, downtown Winter Park. Growing up I always heard that they actually filmed it with two different endings, with Godzilla winning for the Asian audiences and King Kong winning for the West. Fact or fiction? Who knows, but you won't want to miss this creature feature steel cage match.

SILVER STREAK (1976), Arthur Hiller's fun Hitchcock homage about a mild-mannered editor getting involved in a murder plot on a cross-country train ride has been rescheduled for Thursday, June 18 in Shady Park in Hannibal Square, Winter Park. A highly entertaining mix of comedy, romance, action and suspense written by Colin Higgins (HAROLD AND MAUDE, FOUL PLAY), the film boasts a terrific cast including Gene Wilder, Jill Clayburgh, Richard Pryor, Patrick McGoohan, Ned Neatty, and Fred Willard.

And in-between these two rain make-ups, don't forget about what's sure to be one of the best-attended Popcorn Flicks of the year, the original BACK TO THE FUTURE (1985), on June 11. Fun stuff...
