Oui ou Non?

In France last week, posters in the small village of La Cadiere d'Azur advocate in favor of, and against, yesterday's national vote on the European Constitution.

Today, the International Herald Tribune surveyed the reactions to the rejection of the document by voters:
French newspapers on Monday described May 29 as a historic turning point and took a gloomy view of the effect on France's influence in Europe.
"There will be a before- and an after-May 29," said Le Figaro. "The French take the risk that European history will proceed without them."
The leftist daily Libération called the vote a "monumental disavowal" for Chirac.
The no vote made France, a founding member of the European Union and one of its most influential, the first country to reject the charter, which was drafted in an effort to streamline decision-making in an expanded union.
